Role: Finance Manager

Purpose of Role
The Finance Manager plays an important role in the preparation of reports to facilitate informed decision-making by those managing the charity’s funds. Excellence is a core value at Equippers Church. This particularly applies to the finance function - the little details matter to us.
The Finance Manager plays an important role within the Finance Team. The Finance Manager reports to the Financial Director and manages the Accounts Assistant. They work alongside all staff and key volunteers.

Main Responsibilities of the Role
- Approve and release payments
- Prepare monthly accounts for review by Finance Director
- Present monthly accounts to leadership once reviewed
- Prepare analysis for income and costs
- Prepare monthly forecasts
- Review monthly payroll process and ensure salaries are paid on time
- Manage the annual budget process and report against budgets on a monthly basis
- Prepare Financial Statements for audit and work with external auditors / advisors

Essentials
- Is a qualified accountant
- Has an understanding of charity accounting in the UK
- Is proficient in Excel
- Has strong attention to detail
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Has the ability to work on own initiative
- Can consistently meet deadlines
- Demonstrates a commitment to the HEART values and beliefs of Equippers Church
Desirables
- Experience with Quickbooks
- Experience with Churchsuite
- Has experience working/volunteering within the charity sector in UK
- Has at least 2 years experience in a similar role
